Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Usability of Flex Frameworks - Are You Attending Adobe MAX?
The main event for every Flex developer start in ten days

In a week, I’m going to San Francisco. This will be my first Adobe MAX conference. Five thousand people will attend this major technical event. My tracks are Flex and AIR. I’m arriving early, to attend one of the pre-conference workshops on Sunday.

I was invited to participate in the MAX panel called Flex Architecture Faceoff that will take place on Monday, Nov 17 at 2PM at Moscone center in SF. This session has been created by O’Reilly, and the panelists are Flex architects who write for O’Reilly.

On Monday evening, I’ll be moderating a BOF session on usability of Flex frameworks. If you have an opinion, please stop by.

This time, I’m planning to attend as many technical sessions as possible. Unfortunately, majority of the sessions are catered to the beginners. It seems that Adobe is still selling Flex. But 360Flex folks put together an excellent small scale unconference that will take place at MAX. This unconference seems to have more advanced stuff that the big MAX brother.

I’ll be blogging daily for Flex Developers Journal, and will be happy to meet with you as long as you are a Flex developer and not a marketeer. Belgium beer in the nearby bars is as important as learning about Thermo and Flex 4.
For me, being among thousands of people that are passionate about RIA with Flex is like yet another vacation. I’m going there to get an energy boost in anticipation of the very productive year of Flex development. If your boss did not approve your trip to MAX, try again. Remember, every rejection brings you closer to the goal.

On the last day of MAX, I'll drive to San Jose to speak at the SOAWorld 2008 conference, which is also a very solid technical event.

Hope to see you either at MAX or at SOAWorld.
