The special New Year's Eve programming will include The History of Howard Stern Act II, the next installment in the award-winning series, a rare behind-the-scenes look at the life, career and achievements of Howard Stern, the most celebrated radio personality in history. The History of Howard Stern Act II picks up after Howard's firing at WNBC in 1985 and takes an in-depth look at the beginning of Howard's legendary run at K-Rock.

The special premiered on December 22 on Howard's exclusive SIRIUS channels, Howard 100 and Howard 101, and runs through January 2. The History of Howard Stern Act II airs in 10 separate original parts, with one installment airing at 6:00 am ET on Howard 100 and 6:00 am PT on Howard 101 and replaying continuously all day, night plus weekends.

The premiere of Day 8 is December 31 at 6:00 am ET on Howard 100 and 6:00 am PT on Howard 101; Day 9 premieres January 1 at 6:00 am ET on Howard 100 and 6:00 am PT on Howard 101. Howard 100 and Howard 101 are available on XM Radio as part of "The Best of SIRIUS" package.

On December 31 at 11:00 pm ET on channel Howard 101 Artie Lange hosts an exclusive special broadcast of his comedy DVD, It's the Whiskey Talking. The stand-up set features Lange at his observational and uncensored best, riffing on everything from drinking and gambling to his lackluster movie career.

SIRIUS XM will also air exclusive live concert broadcasts from all over the country on various music channels featuring some of the most popular acts of the past 40 years, including hip-hop superstar Akon, the timeless American rock band The Beach Boys, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band Gregg Allman, New Jersey rock and roll legend Southside Johnny, multi-platinum duo Hall & Oates and Grammy(R) Award-winning bluegrass band Del McCoury Band.

SIRIUS XM's Party City channel SIRIUS channel 39 and XM channel 38 is designed to serve as the soundtrack to New Year's Eve parties around the country and will feature the biggest, upbeat party hits. The channel will launch on Tuesday, December 30 at 12:00 am and will air through Thursday, January 1 at 11:59 pm ET.

Metropolitan Opera Radio SIRIUS channel 78 and XM channel 79 will broadcast live from The Met on New Year's Eve. Listeners will hear a live broadcast of the premiere of the highly-anticipated new production Puccini's La Rondine, starring real-life husband and wife Angela Gheorghiu and Roberto Alagna.

On New Year's Eve starting at 10:00 pm ET, SIRIUS XM will broadcast a special set performed by legendary St. Tropez-based deejay Jack E recorded live from Kiss & Fly in New York City exclusively for Area SIRIUS channel 38 and XM channel 80.

On December 31 at 10:00 pm ET, Larry Flick, host of OutQ in the Morning with Larry Flick on SIRIUS OutQ, SIRIUS channel 109, will ring in 2009 with his 4th Annual Tripping the Disco Fantastic musical extravaganza. The three-hour live event will combine wall-to-wall '70s-era club classics and dance music rarities with nationwide listener call-ins.

SIRIUS XM's Kids Place Live SIRIUS and XM channel 116 will celebrate New Year's Eve with exclusive concerts from its series Kids Place Live Rumpus Room. Listeners will hear performances by Trout Fishing in America, The Jimmies, Father Goose, Ralph's World, Justin Roberts, Recess Monkey, Bill Harley, Billy Jonas, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, the Asylum Street Spankers and SteveSongs. Additionally, beginning at 12:00 am ET the channel will offer kid friendly party music with Automatik, a jukebox show of the greatest hits of children's music.
