Nokia Multimedia Phones Run Symbian OS

Trend Towards Symbian Continues

Nokia's newest multimedia phones run on Symbian OS, billed by Symbian as "the world's most popular operating system for advanced mobile phones."

"The open standards of Symbian OS have enabled Nokia to rapidly develop this
new range of compelling phones," Symbian said in an official statement. The new range includes three phones: the Nokia N91 (the first phone based
on Symbian OS v9), the Nokia N90, and the Nokia N70 (3G).

The three phones incorporate a range of leading edge, next generation
multimedia technologies including:
·        3G
·        Carl Zeiss Optics
·        Megapixel cameras
·        Multi-gigabyte memory
·        VHS resolution video
·        WLAN

According to a press statement issued today by Nokia, the Nseries offers "new fusions of digital media and mobility to the hands of mobile users".

This means that consumers can use a single one of these devices to do such things as snap print-quality images, read email, listen to music, browse the web, and watch mobile TV. (The browsing capability will be delivered through an exclusive partnership with Yahoo!, according to Nokia.)
