Designed for VCO applications
Jan. 9, 2009 08:00 AM
The new UPA828TD Twin Transistor from NEC. The UPA828TD combines two closely matched silicon NPN chips in a miniature 1.2 x 1.0 x 0.5mm 6 pin leadless RoHS-compliant package. Designed for VCO applications, the UPA828TD enables oscillator and buffer amplifier functions to be combined in one miniature device. Its small size and low power consumption make it useful for portable, battery-powered products. Typical specifications at 1V, 3mA, 2GHz include:
- Noise Figure NF: 1.3 dB
- Insertion Power Gain [S21e]2: 7.5 dB
- Frequency fT: 9 GHz
The chip inside the UPA828TD is NEC's NE687. Each transistor is independently mounted, so the device can be configured for either cascode or dual transistor operation.
