Wireless News Desk Telegent Introduces Single-Chip TV Receiver TLG2300
Brings hybrid TV to PCs, laptops, and netbooks
Jan. 20, 2009 07:00 AM
Telegent Systems has announced the TLG2300, a single-chip CMOS hybrid TV receiver that adds live TV to PCs and portable devices. The TLG2300 delivers the performance, low power and high integration needed to embed live TV in laptops, netbooks and mobile internet devices. The TLG2300 supports digital and analog TV and FM radio, enabling global PC TV solutions in a single SKU. The TLG2300 is a single-chip solution supporting both DVB- T and analog TV standards. In countries transitioning to DVB-T, the TLG2300 combines the benefits of digital TV with the ubiquitous availability of analog, ensuring live TV reception regardless of digital deployment. Support for analog standards extends target markets to countries where there is no imminent digital conversion. The TLG2300 reduces power by 75%, size by 50% and TV feature cost by 60% relative to existing solutions while delivering industry-leading video sensitivity and picture quality with margin to key NorDig specifications. Its high integration reduces the number of external components as well as overall feature cost, making live TV possible in a wide range of applications, including low-cost netbooks. The TLG2300 integrates the RF tuner, demodulator, decoder, audio/video processing, FM stereo radio, and USB 2.0 interface in less than 4.25 cm2 of board space, enabling a hybrid TV single-sided, four-layer, half-mini PCIe form factor. Telegent provides a complete system solution including antenna design and recommendations, hardware reference designs and bundled Microsoft-certified and Linux drivers. The TLG2300 is currently in sampling with customers. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
