Software AG and Proginet Corporation have announced the availability of webMethods ActiveTransfer, a solution for managed file transfer available as part of the webMethods Suite. Building upon a new strategic OEM partnership with Proginet for its cross-platform file transfer solution, webMethods ActiveTransfer is an integrated file transfer solution that provides a single point of control and management for all of an organization's file transfer activity, both inside and outside the extended enterprise. webMethods ActiveTransfer enables organizations to exchange information securely between all major computer platforms, as well as over the Internet. webMethods ActiveTransfer supports a variety of communication protocols, and provides for the transmission of important business documents with trusted recipients across geographically dispersed networks. In addition, its Checkpoint Restart functionality provides guaranteed delivery, while resuming the transfer of any file from the point of failure, rather than from the beginning of the transfer. webMethods ActiveTransfer provides centralized management and control, including auditing, troubleshooting, and encryption, for both inbound and outbound transfers. These control features, combined with a secure infrastructure and optimized system performance, provide a platform for compliance with regulatory mandates and information security best practices relating to the transmission of large files.
