Windows 7 RC & XPM Beta Out
It seems that Vista may stop shipping once Windows 7 is out
May. 8, 2009 01:45 PM
Microsoft has posted both the public release of the Windows 7 Release Candidate and the beta XP Mode (XPM) add-on, the virtualized rendition of
XP that Microsoft made so users of the new operating system can run XP apps, well, so at least the premium SKUs of Win7 can, provided they have processor-based virtualization support (which threatens to be another hurdle for Microsoft since not all new chips have it). And from what Microsoft Asia-Pacific Windows Client Business Group general manager Richard Francis told IDG, it seems that Vista may stop shipping once Windows 7 is out. Microsoft denies it, however.
