Inspired Learning from Stanford & Apple

Yesterday Stanford University made an announcement that its free iPhone application Development Training Course - CS193P, has broken the 1 Million Downloads barrier in 7 weeks! See the Stanford University press release here.
This semester’s 10 week class has been available on iTunesU since it started on April 1st and is again being taught by Alan Cannistraro, Evan Doll and a few other guest presenters mainly from Apple. The Syllabus is well thought out and covers all of what a budding iPhone developer would need to know and can be viewed here. The production of the videos has been slick and timely, each being available for download after a few days, along with any demo code and presentation slides in .PDF format. It leaves all of us, that with to take part remotely, free to take their time and re-review at their leisure.
I have been enjoying the classes via iTunes myself, transferring them onto my iPhone and watching them during my daily commute. Believe me this is a great way of learning and using that boring commute time. Also the exercises that have been set are another great way of putting what you have learnt about into practice. The only down side is that us folks outside of Stanford cant get marked etc, though there are a number of CS193P Blogs and Groups that individuals have set up that allow us remote folks to ask questions and obtain advice, independent of Alan and Evan... I'm sure they are thankful of that, they have their hands full teaching the class and holding down their days jobs as Apple iPhone Engineers at Apple Inc. The main group to mention would be the Google Group which currently stands at 571 members along with a blog on CS193P .
As a presenter myself I think I should give credit to Alan & Evan's presentation styles. Both have been spot on explaining concepts clearly and concisely, along with a nice selection of live demo's and even remembering to repeat the questions asked to them, for the iTunesU audience...Nice touch. Whilst I think of it, I would like to high-five Evan, who's t-shirt wardrobe I'm envious of!... Evan dude your t-Shirts rock! Though I'm disappointed that I havent seen the Leonardo'esc iPhone design t-shirt, which is currently my personal favorite a new take on the original exploded iPhone t-shirt. Let's see if he reads this and maybe will obtain one to wear in the last few classes.
Personally I believe that this is a fantastic and inspired piece of learning from Stanford & Apple, along with the great facility of iTunesU and I would like to congratulate all parties. Here's to the rest of the classes being as high a standard, as those that I have enjoyed so far & thanks to Alan, Evan & all the presenters.
